“YOUTH CREATE • A Better Hong Kong” Advertisement Design Competition successfully completed

20 March 2024

The Office of The Ombudsman held the “YOUTH CREATE • A Better Hong Kong” Advertisement Design Competition jointly with Hong Kong Economic Journal. The Awards Presentation Ceremony took place last week on 15 March, at which three of the judges for the competition presented prizes to all the awardees, including the Champion, the first Runner-up, the second Runner-up, eight Merit Awards, the “Most Popular Award” determined by online public voting, and the three winners of the “Best School Participation Award”.

The competition was open to Form 1 to Form 3 students encouraging them to unleash their creativity and imagination to design a print advertisement that can both reflect their thoughts about building a better Hong Kong and promote a positive message about good public administration. We also hope to inspire students through the competition to care more about the society and public services, and instill in them a deeper understanding about the work of the Office of The Ombudsman and the important roles it plays in the society.

More than 300 entries were received. They were assessed, and the winners chosen, by a panel of judges comprising Ms Winnie Chiu, The Ombudsman; Mr Tsai Wing Chung, our expert adviser; Ms Pandora Ip, Executive Director and Chief Commercial Officer, Hong Kong Economic Journal; and Mr Ray Lam, Head of Content, Hong Kong, Ogilvy PR based on a set of criteria, including how the theme was conveyed, overall aesthetics and creativity.
