Visit to PLA Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Centre
8 November 2024
Further to the group of staff led by The Ombudsman, Mr Chan Jick-chi Jack in August to visit the National Security Exhibition Gallery, Deputy Ombudsman Mr So Kam-shing led a group of 50 staff to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (“PLA”) Hong Kong Garrison Exhibition Centre this morning (8 November) to better understand our country’s military history and the Holistic Approach to National Security. With the benefit of the docent service arranged by the PLA Hong Kong Garrison, the Office’s staff have deepened their understanding of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the PLA’s remarkable achievement under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and learned about the PLA’s determination and contribution to safeguard the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.
Since its establishment in July 2021, the Exhibition Centre has staged the exhibition themed “Dreams of the East”, with three thematic exhibition halls, namely “the Chinese Dream”, “the Dream of a Strong Military” and “the PRC HK Garrison” and the Weaponry and Equipment Area where display boards, antiques and models of the PLA’s military equipment are placed, making it a fascinating and informative exhibition.
