The Ombudsman, Chan Jick-chi Jack, today (13 August) led a team of senior staff to the Department of Justice to meet with the Acting Secretary for Justice, Cheung Kwok-kwan, Horace, and his counsel colleagues to deepen the understanding of the policy measures adopted by the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in promoting mediation. During the meeting, Mr Chan and his team also engaged in deliberation with the Department of Justice to explore collaboration in developing a culture of mediation, which would echo his Office’s strategic plans for proactive use of mediation in complaint handling so as to resolve conflicts and achieve harmony in the community in the coming years.
