Supporting the Policy Address and continuing with our supervisory efforts to deliver tangible benefits for the public

19 September 2025

In response to the 2025 Policy Address recently delivered by the Chief Executive, The Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, yesterday (18 September) had in-depth discussions with directorate and chief officers on the various policy measures closely related to the pursuit of economic growth and people’s livelihood. Mr Chan took the lead to explore how his Office can facilitate the Government’s drive for social reforms through making pragmatic recommendations on the basis of full investigations and direct investigation operations, thereby achieving good governance and tangible benefits for the public.

The Office will continue to promote mediation and a positive complaint culture, foster inter-departmental collaboration, perform its supervisory role effectively, and drive positive change in public administration through the newly established Hong Kong International Ombudsman Academy. In a bid to connect the world, we will actively engage in international affairs and deepen exchanges and cooperation with overseas ombudsman bodies.
