Ombudsman meets with Commissioner Against Corruption of Macao to strengthen bilateral cooperation in promoting good public administration

The Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, today (3 March) received a delegation led by the Commissioner Against Corruption of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Ms Ao Ieong Seong, with a meeting held together with three Assistant Ombudsmen to reinforce bilateral ties.
During the meeting, Ombudsman Chan briefed the delegation on the Office’s three strategic focuses and the results achieved in the past year, highlighting our efforts through the Hong Kong International Ombudsman Academy to promote mediation and inter-departmental collaboration, with a view to driving innovation and reform in public administration. The two parties also engaged in in-depth discussions and shared experience in monitoring public administration and handling complaints.
As a member of the International Ombudsman Institute and the Asian Ombudsman Association, The Ombudsman of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region expects to work closely with our Macao counterpart to strengthen global ties and cooperation within the ombudsman community by leveraging our distinctive advantage of having strong support from the motherland and close connection with the world. The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to advance quality public administration, raise supervision standards and foster greater synergy.
