Ombudsman led staff members to visit roving exhibition commemorating 80th anniversary of victory in War of Resistance
29 August 2025
The Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, today (29 August) led a group of over 70 staff members (including all directorate and chief investigation officers) to visit “Remembering History Cherishing Peace” roving exhibition in commemoration of 80th Anniversary of Victory in Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and World Anti-Fascist War. Organised by the Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group (“HKTKWW”), the exhibition provides an excellent opportunity to reflect on the history of the War of Resistance, honour martyrs, and promote patriotism.
Mr Chan was grateful to the Vice Chairman and General Manager of HKTKWW, Mr Zheng Yongnan, for receiving our staff in person. Mr Chan applauded the exhibition’s profound significance in vividly illustrating, through a rich collection of historical materials and precious exhibits, the heroic journey through the War of Resistance and the unwavering unity of the Chinese people. Guided by professional docents, our staff gained a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the war’s history and the importance of victory for the motherland. This experience serves to strengthen the sense of national identity and patriotism in our staff, thereby inspiring a stronger collective commitment to making greater effort and contribution towards the development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”).
The exhibition is also supported and co-organised by Mainland and HKSAR government authorities and war-related organisations. After being on show at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, it will tour all 18 districts and schools across the territory.
