Ombudsman encourages staff to learn and implement spirit of “two sessions”

8 May 2025

The Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, earlier attended a seminar hosted by the Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, at which Mr Zheng Yanxiong, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, shared his views on learning the spirit of the third session of the 14th National People’s Congress and the third session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (“two sessions”).

Today (8 May), Ombudsman Chan introduced the key points of the Chief Executive’s and Director Zheng’s respective speeches to the directorate, division and team heads and senior officers of The Ombudsman’s Office. He shared his insights and elaborated on how this Office, as the watchdog of public administration, can implement the spirit of the “two sessions”. Ombudsman Chan also encouraged his staff members to keep abreast of the latest developments and strategic directions of the motherland, continue to perform their respective duties diligently, incorporate the spirit of the “two sessions” in daily work, and contribute to the stability and prosperity of Hong Kong and the well-being of the public. Division, team and section heads will explain the essence and key principles of the “two sessions” to other colleagues later.
