16 October 2025

The Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, today (16 October) was invited to and attended the Seminar on Executive-Legislative Collaboration for Good Governance and Better Future held by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”) Government.  The seminar allowed representatives from various sectors of the community to exchange views and foster consensus on promoting good governance.

At the seminar, the Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, delivered a keynote speech.  Other speakers, including the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Chan Kwok-ki, and the President of the Legislative Council, Mr Andrew Leung, also gave thematic speeches.  They highlighted the crucial roles of the Executive Authorities and the Legislature in jointly advancing the steadfast and successful implementation of the “One Country, Two Systems” and enhancing good governance of the HKSAR.  The seminar further deepened public understanding of the importance of Legislative Council Election.  The event drew enthusiastic participation from Executive Council members, Legislative Council members, senior government officials, representatives from various sectors of the community, as well as experts and scholars, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.

Our Office also arranged our staff to watch the live broadcast of the seminar in the office to enhance their understanding of the HKSAR Government’s governance philosophy and policy direction, with an aim of advancing public administration and promoting the well-being of society.
