The Eighth Legislative Council General Election was held today (7 December). In full support of the election, the Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, and his staff dutifully fulfilled civic responsibility by casting their important votes. Ombudsman Chan expressed his expectation that the newly elected Legislative Council members will unite their efforts to assist the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in advancing good governance, driving reform and innovation, strengthening public administration and enhancing the well-being of the community. He called on all stakeholders to work hand in hand in building a brighter future for Hong Kong.
