Ombudsman Academy visits Police Headquarters to share insights on complaint handling
28 October 2025
The Hong Kong International Ombudsman Academy (“HKIOA”) today (28 October) participated in a thematic seminar at the Police Headquarters at the invitation of the Hong Kong Police Force (“HKPF”). The Assistant Ombudsman Mr Kenny Tang, together with his Complaint Investigation colleagues, shared their insights on complaint handling. The sharing focused on promoting wider use of mediation, fostering interdepartmental collaboration, and encouraging a positive service mindset—all aimed at further enhancing the quality of public services.
During the seminar, HKIOA representatives introduced the Office’s functions and operations, with particular emphasis on the Ombudsman Mr Jack Chan’s three strategic directions. They also elaborated on the workflow and methods for handling complaints, supplemented by case studies and practical experience sharing. The session featured active participation, with HKPF members posing questions and engaging in exchanges and discussions with HKIOA representatives.
