24 October 2025
The Hong Kong International Ombudsman Academy yesterday (23 October) received a delegation from the Yunnan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection participating in the Hong Kong Training Course 2025. The Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, met with the delegation comprising 19 officials from the Yunnan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision to exchange views and foster interaction and mutual learning between public administration watchdogs in Hong Kong and Yunnan, with a view to enhancing the quality of public administration.
Following the meeting, the Assistant Ombudsman, Ms Sally Kan, hosted an exchange workshop, during which she introduced the functions and operations of the Office. She also shared practical cases to illustrate the Office’s experience in handling complaints and conducting direct investigation operations, as well as its approach to offering concrete and pragmatic recommendations for improvement to government departments and public organisations. Through these efforts, the Office strives to fully exercise its vital role in monitoring public administration in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The delegates actively engaged in the Q&A and discussion sessions, exchanging insights on complaint handling mechanisms and the principles of administrative supervision.
