Task force set up to explore strategic directions in full support of Hong Kong’s first five-year plan
17 September 2026
In response to the First Five-Year Plan for the Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”) (2026–2030) (“Hong Kong’s Five-Year Plan”) and the 2026 Policy Address, both released by the Chief Executive yesterday, the Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, today (17 September) promptly established a task force comprising the Office’s directorate and chief officers to explore and exchange ideas on the Office’s future strategic directions and targets. The Office aims to better support and align with the HKSAR Government’s policy directions and the development blueprint set out in Hong Kong’s Five-Year Plan, thereby facilitating enhancement of the HKSAR’s governance effectiveness and people’s well-being.
