Ombudsman meets with President of National Authority for Integrity, Prevention and Fight Against Corruption, Morocco

8 September 2026

The President of the National Authority for Integrity, Prevention and Fight Against Corruption (“INPPLC”) of Morocco, Mr Mohamed Benalilou, today (8 September) called on the Office of The Ombudsman and exchanged views with the Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, and the Assistant Ombudsman, Ms Sally Kan. Following a delegation led by Mr Chan to Morocco last May for the International Ombudsman Institute’s Annual Board Meeting and an official visit to the National Ombudsman Institution and INPPLC, this meeting took forward the constructive exchanges and cordial ties between the two sides in the field of public administration supervision.

At the meeting, Mr Chan outlined the Office’s three strategic focuses and achievements, with particular emphasis on the latest developments of the Hong Kong International Ombudsman Academy established by the Office. He noted that the Academy actively promotes a positive complaint culture and the concept of “maladministration prevention”. Through international seminars, training programmes and exchange activities, it continues to foster experience-sharing among regional and international ombudsman institutions, promoting the sustainable development and innovation of the ombudsman system while showcasing the current development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region under “one country, two systems”.

With comprehensive discussions on supervisory mechanisms, maladministration prevention and related issues, the meeting further consolidated the mutual ties and cooperative relations between the two sides.
