An administrative support staff member of the Office of The Ombudsman preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19

22 February 2022

The Office of The Ombudsman today (22 February 2022) said that an administrative support staff member preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19.

The staff member last worked on 18 February (Fri) in the office premises at 30/F, China Merchants Tower, Shuk Tak Centre. She did not have contact with members of the public recently while performing duties. She had been wearing face masks and following infection control measures at work.

Thorough cleaning and disinfection will be arranged at the office premises concerned as soon as possible. The Office will maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health in taking appropriate follow-up action, including arranging concerned staff to undergo COVID-19 testing.

Whilst the counter and reception service of the Office has been suspended temporarily, members of the public can continue to lodge complaints or make enquiries with the Office through email, online form, hotline and voice message.

During the pandemic, the Office has been strictly implementing various disease prevention measures. Staff members are reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to maintain social distancing. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
